At Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Arthur B. Baggeroer, chief scientist specializing in ocean science as well as Ford professor of engineering, met with the HEU delegation. Professor Baggeroer inquired in detail about the research areas and curriculum of the Underwater Acoustic Engineering College at HEU, expressing his willingness to cooperate with HEU in academic areas and in graduate student exchange programs.

On the next stop, Kennesaw State University, the dean of the Confucius Institute Jin Kehua, who is also the leading person globally within the Confucius Institute organization, introduced to the HEU delegation some aspects of the Confucius Institute in Kennesaw State University, such as its development, management and some of its experiences.
