Social Practice Activity: A Lecture Trip to Zhangj

It was a bright day when a team of 5 OEC students set off to Zhangjiagang for a presentation appointment to a group of high school students, which was a social practice activity arranged by OEC for the students who stayed on campus during summer vacation.

It soon became evident that what the OEC students thought would somewhat a struggle, would in fact not be so much of a challenge because of the depth at which the middle school students grasped ideas and conveyed their thoughts and feelings back.

The first presenter started the presentation, introducing them to his country and the importance of English as a whole. Then it was followed by another team member from Uzbekistan who kept their attention ripe with an interesting story of a hero of his country. Third on the list were life skills, presented by the only girl presenter in the team. She taught them the importance of knowing what was that you wanted and how to plan your life's journey. The forth presenter spoke to them about the languages that the people speak in these countries. It worked very well because he mentioned some countries that they did not know and managed to teach the students something new. Last presentation focused on traveling and how to prepare for it, which made a very good conclusion.

OEC team members felt no doubt that those middle school students would make great achievements in the near future because it was so obvious that they understood new things so well with different perspectives and their special respect.
