Transtlate The Third Deepwater Offshore Structure Symposium (DOSS 2013), hosted by HEU’s research center of deepwater engineering technology and co-organized by the Deepwater Engineering and Ship Technology Collaborative Innovation Center，was held in the Laboratory Building from July 26 to July 27. Vice President of HEU, YANG Ye, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
The symposium invited nearly 30 representatives of 9 universities, 6 research institutions and 14 ship and marine engineering companies from the United States, Britain, France and China. Of the distinguished guests, four gave speeches in the opening ceremony: SHI You, the deputy chief engineer from the Offshore Oil Engineering Co. Ltd; LIU Yanjia, vice president of the China International Marine Containers (Group) Corporation; XIE Bin, the deputy director from the Deepwater Engineering Laboratory of the National Offshore Oil Institute and ZHAO Gengyin from the China Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Design Institute.
Vice President YANG Ye welcomed all distinguished guests. He expressed the hope that through this symposium, the relationship between experts in different countries would be further strengthened, which contributes to better and quicker development of international marine engineering.
The symposium lasted for two days. A short-term training session of deepwater floating structure technology was organized on the first day. On the second day, participating experts and scholars held a discussion on the latest research results in the field of deepwater engineering.
