German Chancellor Angela Merkel delivered a speech at Tsinghua
German Chancellor Angela Merkel delivered a speech at Tsinghua University on Tuesday during her visit to China.
Tsinghua President Chen Jining hosted the speech
Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei, Tsinghua University President Chen Jining, and Tsinghua Vice President Yuan Si attended the speech.
"Sustainable development does not mean to sacrifice economic growth," Merkel said. It offers opportunities to create a better life with new ways, and German enterprises have an interest in cooperating with Chinese companies in the sectors of urbanization and environmental protection, she added.
She answered several questions from the students after her speech.
