ZJU Clinches 5 Gold Medals at 2014 National Collegiate Martial Arts Championship
The 2014 National Collegiate Martial Arts Championship was successfully concluded at Northeast Normal University recently. The championship was jointly hosted by the Traditional Ethnic Sport Branch of China’s Collegiate Athletic Association and Northeast Normal University. Approximately 500 athletes from 53 teams, including Beijing Sport University, Fudan University and Lanzhou University, attended this sport gala.
13 Zhejiang University students from the College of Education participated in it. With assiduous training, they won 5 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal. Liu Shuyang was a gold medalist in Taiji (or Shadowboxing); Wang Di won two gold medals in Nanquan (or Southern Fist) and Bajiquan (or Fist of the Eight Extremities); Qian Leyun and Qian Xiaole clinched 1 gold medal in Sanjiegun (or 3-section Cudgel) and Shuangbian (or Double Whip) respectively; and the silver medal in Tanglangquan (or Mantis Fist) and the bronze medal in Sanjiegun went to Li Hua and Jiang Chenqi respectively.
