SYSU Digital Campus Construction Selected as a Classic Case at the National Educational Informationi

Recently, the National Educational Informationization Video Teleconference was held by the Ministry of Education (MOE). Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and State Councilor, attended the meeting and made an important speech. The conference was presided over by Yuan Guiren, Minister of Education. Du Zhanyuan, Vice Minister of Education explained the major work of educational informationization in this year and next. Guo Qingshun, researcher at the Network and Information Technology Center of SYSU, attended the conference at the main venue as a representative of the experts who compiled the “Ten-Year Development Plan for National Educational Informationization (2011-2020)”.

The conference was the first full-caliber educational informationization meeting that was held in the critical period of thoroughly implementing National Medium- and Long-term Plan for Education Reform and Development and comprehensively advancing the construction of educational informationization. It fully reflected the great importance Central Committee of the Party and the State Council attached to educational informationization and had a strategic significance in cohering consensus, uniting strengths and advancing sound and rapid development of educational informationization.

SYSU Digital Campus program was chosen as a classic case in the conference. Since the construction of Digital Campus, SYSU has been trying to combine advancing informationization construction with applying the Scientific Outlook on Development, innovate the working mechanism of the university and improve the quality of higher education. On the basis of the Digital Campus program, SYSU is devoted to the comprehensive integration of informationization construction with talent cultivation, scientific research, social development and cultural heritage to encourage educational reform and innovation and promote the construction of a high-level university. By now, we have produced significant results in improving the quality of higher education.
