Confucius Institute at the University of Zambia on Mulungushi University teaching points from the Chinese compulsory course beginning, is based on the local teaching practice and students learning characteristics, exploring the “Chinese teaching in class, Cultural experience after class” is a two masterstroke together teaching method, which lets the student quickly like the Chinese. Not only does it encourage the students to study hard, study happily, but also through learning Chinese, make a strong willing to understand Chinese culture.

Since the class began, students have understood the Chinese tea culture, tasted the Chinese characteristics of various rice porridge,learnt and experience the Chinese martial arts, calligraphy,traditional festivals culture and so on.

On November 1st, that is Kong Sasa’s birthday, the student in Chinese compulsory class. She is the first student to celebrate her birthday with the class. In order to let everyone experience the Chinese style on birthday celebration.Wang Jinzhong,who is their Chinese lecturer,designed an open up a fresh outlook birthday party for students. Longevity noodles is protagonist for the party, with two other Chinese dishes to accompany the meal. Students participated in the noodles, and served in the preparation process and learnt about Chinese cuisine. In the cooking process, students understood the significance of longevity,varieties and characteristics of Chinese food. When the colorful food was presented to the students, they were happy and excited.

During the party, students also learnt the Chinese version of the Happy Birthday song, understanding of the Chinese zodiac, through calculation, each of the students knows his zodiac.

At the end of the party, the students packed the some food for their friends to taste, which of course is also expanding the influence of Chinese culture on the great opportunity.

Professor Ali, who is the Dean of School of Social Sciences in Mulungushi University also attended the activities, gave high evaluation to the activity and Chinese teaching flexible and diverse teaching methods.
