Foreign Students' Excellent in the Sports Meeting of Jiangsu University

Our Athletes Shone at the11th Sports Meeting

   In order to promote the communication and combination of Chinese and foreign students, to show our overseas students’ charm, OEC leaders put great emphasis on the event. OEC’s sport team was formed out of careful selection and had more than 60 students. They took part in 24 items of competition. Under the leadership of our overseas coach, all athletes were actively trained with great unity and cooperation, fully showing the students’ unique enthusiasm and confidence.
     In fierce competitions, OEC athletes constantly gave us surprise: they achieved the first in men's 100 m, second in 400m, second in women’s 200m, second in 400m, third in male and female 4X100 m and also made some other remarkable achievements. During the competition of casting the tennis ball nobody made a mistake. Rounds of applause burst from the audience and even from referees. We won the first place in the group without suspense. It was friendly scenery that in games our students and Chinese students congratulated to each other. Broadcasting on the sports ground in English added international atmosphere to the school sports meeting.
From athlete selection to the competitions, some Chinese volunteers did a lot of service work. There was a lot of hard work put in by the volunteers behind the success of the players. We could say that a corner of all the medals belonged to the hard-working volunteers.
     At this 11th Sports Meeting, OEC ranked the 4th place at the Group, and won the Sportsmanship Award, which was a great encouragement. It was also the result of effort of all athletes, teachers, volunteers, and the Cheering Squad.
