1. About Wuhan and Huazhong University of Science and Technology
As the political, economic and cultural center of central China, Wuhan is the modernized metropolis with a long history. Huazhong University of Science and Technology is located at the foot of Yujia Hill and beside the East Lake in Wuhan, with luxuriantly green plants scattered all round in 450 hectares of land. It has earned the reputation as “a university encircled by forest” for her appealing scenery. Being a key comprehensive university directly under the Ministry of Education of P. R. China, Huazhong University of Science and Technology steadily ranks at the top 10 of China’s leading universities.

2．How to reach Huazhong University of Science and Technology from the airport or the railway stations
● Please come to our university by taxi:
1. It takes about one and a half hours from Wuhan Tianhe Airport to HUST, it will cost around 150RMB.
2. It takes about half an hour from Wuchang Railway Station to HUST, it will cost around 30RMB.
3. It takes about one hour from Hankou Railway Station to HUST, it will cost around 60RMB.
● Between Aug. 27th and Sept. 2nd only:  Please show the <Card for Taxi Driver> when you get on the taxi. The driver will send you to the Reception Center for the New International Students in HUST directly. The receptionist will pay the fare and arrange the accommodation for you. You will be directed to International Student Office for registration after the accommodation is fixed. The International Student Office will be open from 8:00-12:00 am; 2:30-6:00 pm.
● If you arrive in other time, please pay the fare by yourself.
● The Reception Center for New International Students in HUST will be open from 8:00 am of Aug. 27th to 6:00 pm Sept. 2nd, new students are required to arrive within this period, or will be unable to enjoy the service from Reception Center.

3．Registration  
● Venue: International Student Office, School of International Education, Huazhong University of Science and Technology 
● Time: Aug. 27th to Sept. 2nd, 2012.
● Please come for registration within the specified time. If you arrive earlier, the International Student Office would not conduct procedures for registration, and you’re expected to check in at the hotel on campus or arrange accommodation at your own convenience.

4. Materials needed for registration:
   *Admission Notice of Huazhong University of Science and Technology     *Visa Application for Study in China （JW201/202）
   *Physical examination record and blood test reports （original）            *Passport   *Photos in passport size （8 copies or above）

5. Tuition paying
According to University regulations, students are required to pay one year’s tuition at registration.
Chinese language students could pay by semester.

6. Special note
● please prepare the fees as below:
1. Registration fee （self-financed students only）: 500 RMB
2. Physical Examination: 100-500 RMB
3. Resident Permit: 
400 RMB for less than 1 year;  800 RMB for 1-3 years （including 1 year）;  1000 RMB for 3-5 years （including 3 years）
●Since you should pay for the fees in Item 1, 2 and 3 by yourself, please prepare enough money for your living and the fees listed above.
