Professor Katharina Kohse-Hoeinghaus visit Tianjin University
On December 4, Tianjin University (TU) Vice President Shu Gequn met with Professor Katharina Kohse-Hoeinghaus, an academician at the German Academy of Sciences.

During the meeting, Vice President Shu briefed the guest on TU’s history and its disciplinary strengths. He also described the TU State Key Laboratory for Internal Combustion Engines and the Institute of Internal Combustion Engines. Professor Kohse-Hoeinghaus presented an overview of the University of Bielefeld. Although the University of Bielefeld focuses on sciences and humanities, it will place greater importance on engineering, a TU strength, in the future. She said that it was her first time to visit a state key laboratory for internal combustion engines. She hoped that through this visit she could know more about the disciplinary construction of internal combustion engines in China, so that the world might know more about China.
Katharina Kohse-Hoeinghaus is a Full Professor of Chemistry at Bielefeld University. She is also the President of the Combustion Institute, the Editor of "Combustion and Flame", and the deputy chairperson of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s Selection Committee for research fellowships and a member of its International Advisory Board.
