SCUT Student's Paper Published in Cell

On Dec.21, another success came to "genomics science" innovation class of SCUT-BGI-Shenzhen. Names of students of School of Bioscience and Bioengineering, JIN Xin, the 2nd-year doctoral student of microbiology, and JIAN Minghan, the 4th-year undergraduate of bioengineering, appeared on scientific paper entitled "Whole-Genome Sequencing in Autism Identifies Hot Spots for De Novo Germline Mutation" in Cell, the top journal in bioscience. The paper was based on a cooperative research project between SCUT, BGI-Shenzhen, University of California and etc.
It's said that students of "genomics science" innovation class have made great achievements in scientific research since its establishment in March, 2009. Names of the students appeared 37 times and 29 papers were published in world top scientific journals like Nature, Science, Cell, The New English Journal of Medicine and etc.
