The 8th Summer Vacation Job Fair Held at HEU
On July 6th, the 8th Summer Vacation Job Fair, also named “Pay One’s Way through School”, hosted by The New Evening Newspaper and undertaken by HEU, was held at HEU’s outdoor recreational area. Nearly 200 companies in finance, real estate, tourism, catering, IT, education and other fields took part in the job fair, employing and signing contracts with more than 2000 students for this summer vacation. WEI Lin, HEU’s vice President, stopped by and gave valuable guidance.

The Job Fair is a large-scale public welfare activity that does not charge students and companies any fee. It is one of HEU’s measures to improve the school’s funding system and to increase off-campus job opportunities for students. All the participating companies must be of a certain scale, able to provide students with a wage not less than the national minimum wage and ensure safety and security during the holiday.

From 2007 on, the eight successive Job Fairs have erected a communication bridge between students and companies, providing nearly 100,000 jobs for undergraduate students.
