HEU Gives a Satisfactory Performance in the National Robot Design Competition

On the 15th, the 2nd National Robot Design Competition known as the “Shanghai Taijing Cup” was held at Harbin Far East Institute of Technology. Guided by ZHAO Dong, an instructor from the College of Computer Science and Technology, HEU’s student team, consisting of LV Yexin from the College of Software Engineering, GAO Haibao from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, XI Qun from theCollege of Computer Science and Technology and other students, participated in all categories of the competition. Ultimately, they won the championship for the creative electronic design category and second prizes in the sensor design, structural design, competitive intelligent swing and performing multi-robot dance categories. In addition, they won a third prize in the performing single robot dance category.

It was reported that 99 teams and 442 participants from 68 universities, 14 secondary schools and 17 primary schools were involved in the competition. The whole competition was divided into four main categories, namely, creative design, performance, competition and presentation categories. The four categories were further separated into 24 items.
