HEU Wins the Third Prize in the ABU Robocon Preliminary in China
From June 25th to June 28th, the preliminary round of the 2013 Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) in China was held at the National University of Defense Technology. The theme for Robocon 2013 is “The Green Planet”, which means the “seedling” is picked up and launched to the “moon” by means of a manual robot and automatic robot. HEU’s team, consisting of 21 students from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, won the third prize in the contest.

The Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) was founded in 2002 by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union and the contest is held annually. There are 28 teams from 27 universities, such as the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, HIT and Xi'an Jiao Tong University competing in the contest to enter the Robocon 2013 final.
