The Last Universal Hand-in-Hand Association (Foreign Volunteers Group) Meeting of This Semester
From 2pm to 4pm on July 5, a few foreign volunteer members of Universal Hand-in-Hand Association held a meeting. They were Mohammed Muffakham Shaheriyar, Dinah Donna Twum-Ampofo, Abdul-Nazif Mahmud, Mohamud Mohamed Abdi, Lynelda Sesame Ndlovu. Jonathon, the association’s President, later also came and joined in the discussion.
As the new international students of 2013~2014 academic year had started coming to Jiangsu University, volunteer members discussed about the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) of new foreign students and made out a list, the President would go through it further with more students and make it at publication as soon as possible. Besides that, they decided to arrange an Orientation Course for the new foreign students to better help them adapt into the local environment. Another important topic was the next semester’s schedule. Foreign volunteers planned to collaborate with local volunteers to give special lessons to the kids at middle school or even primary school. Those kids are staying at suburbs and are taken care of only by their grandparents and community.
The newly-born Universal Hand-in-Hand Association is becoming more and more helpful to the students of Jiangsu University or even to the society. People could look forward to their devotions in the coming semester.
