Foreign Students Take Part in Cross Cultural Communication Activity Organized by Jiangsu University

To enrich our students’ extracurricular life and oral English, the students association of School of Management – International department organized a cross cultural communication activity on the Oct 19th at 7:00 PM. The activity was perfect with the presence of Nanjing university school fellows as special guests, President of School management’s student union president Lv Zhi Peng, Students union’s executives as the jury and Chinese and foreign students of School management as interested participants together presented a full of humor with cultural exchange for the audience.
The theme of the activity is “We are friends – No differences” with three segments. After the announcement by the host, foreign students gave wonderful talent show followed by the first segment “WuShu Vs Dance”, a fun filled event in which Chinese and foreign students enjoyed playing. The Chinese came up with martial arts like Nunchucks, tae kwon do, free combats while the foreign students countered them with folk songs, rap songs. The second segment amused the audience a lot where the students played a lot of fun games. The last segment was calligraphy by foreign students. They wrote beautiful Chinese Characters “管院加油” which means “Come on! School of Management”.
After two hours, the activity came to an end and the international dept. president awarded the presents to the winners. The activity received good comments for its splendid events.
This activity is unique and novel, attracted many students to participate, helped students to fully exercise their oral English communication ability, mobilize the enthusiasm of students learning English, and also provided students a platform for the exchange with foreign students, deepen each other’s Chinese and foreign cultural understanding, thus enhancing the friendship between the Chinese and foreign students.
