Student’s Painting Awarded in Nanjing

With the help of Mars , Chinese volunteer guy on November 23, 2013 I was at exhibition hall of Nanjing library where the paintings were shown.  The paintings were Chinese‘s painting styles which all the works were done by overseas students and I was one of the competitors. In the halls, I had met more than 80 works.

Through the works I felt different kind of expression. But, one work showed one of water fowl hover to the pond full of water lilies where another waterfowl waited. I felt the identity more likes an ambition from the works, likely seeking for something that belong to somewhere by the blessing of warmness, peacefulness and determination, yet little anxiety.

By the chance Mrs.Wang had introduced the artist who painted this work to me. She is Korean, her name is Pǔwénjī (朴文姬) or Park Moon. I m so wonder that we have some similarity which we only paint the works for interesting likes hobbies. She learned some techniques about a month and when though the paint by her own experiences which were the difference between us. In fact her work got the first prize and I was like “Wow” that’s totally talented.

Later, there was a formal procedure to award the top prizes to the participators. While the procedure was taking, Mrs. Wang was explaining the detail of the speech which gave by the umpire. One of them said the works was not Chinese style either own styles. But, the merging of art and inner expression together which show the point of views of their life and their love.

My work “White snake lord (白蛇传)” The picture of white snake lord was based on my imagination to the very glorious lady, so I drew the several picture to be the model for my paint. But after finishing the work, I was little disappointed as only few part were close to the model. Perhaps, the innermost of my heart wants to express my feeling toward to some lady like umpire said, but it’s not like I what expected. But, I won’t stop here.

Thanks to Mrs. Wang and OEC’s team, I hope to see my process of improving to do much better work than previous.

I will keep moving forward.
