SAU Graduate Makes the Kenya’s First Drone
Omuko Chrispine Otieno graduated from Shenyang Aerospace University in July 2013 made the Kenya’s first drone and received praise from Kenyan government as “Most Promising Innovator”. He was a 2+2 program exchange student from Kenya Aeronautical University and began to study in SAU from 2011.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), colloquially as a drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot on board. Its flight is controlled either autonomously by computers in the vehicle or under the remote control of a pilot on the ground or in another vehicle.
The drone is equipped with the camera which is capable of capturing the image up to width 140 degree. The digital images which the drone captures can be stitched together into 3D maps. This drone can be utilized in various fields such as military, industry, agriculture and rescue.
