Computer Science and Technology (Program Code: 080605)

Program Overview:

This program is one of SCUT’s top programs, aiming to cultivate international talents with a comprehensive knowledge of computer technology, creativity, and the ability to conduct academic research. Specialized courses, such as ‘MultiMedia Technology’ and ‘Artificial Intelligence’ will be arranged during the program. Graduates are capable of working in industrial organizations, research departments, computer hardware/software development organizations, governmental departments, and contributing to the areas of computing research, engineering development, etc.

Main Courses:

Chinese, Introduction to Chinese Culture, Data Structure, Program Design of High-level Language, Operating System, Principles of Compiling, Computer Network, Database, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence.

Degree Awarded:

Students who satisfy all the conditions prescribed by SCUT will be awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

International Economics and Trade (Program Code: 020102)

Program Overview:

This program aims to educate international students with a theoretical knowledge of economics and management, a good command of the theories and skills of international trade, strong computer application skills and bilingual communication. Graduates are demanded in fields of international business and economics, multinational enterprises, and governmental departments of economics.

Main Courses:

Chinese, Introduction to Chinese Culture, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Principles of International Trade, International Finance, Financial Management, Introduction to China’s External Trade

Degree Awarded:

Students who satisfy all the conditions prescribed by SCUT will be awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.

Duration: 4 Years

Civil Engineering

Program Overview:

This program is designed to cultivate the talents with profound theoretical knowledge, creativity, and multicultural communication skills to meet the increasing demand of domestic and Pearl River Delta area for civil engineers.

The program is positioned as a national leading program which caters the economic development of south China, Hongkong, Macau and South East Asia, and is geared to the operation mechanism of international civil engineering industry.

Degree Awarded: Bachelor’s degree of Engineering.

Duration: 4 Years

Environmental Engineering

Program Overview:

The undergraduate major in Environmental Engineering aims to prepare students capability of engineered application based on solid theoretical knowledge, to improve students professional capability during research-based projects and/or industry-based projects. This major has specialties on engineering of water treatment, engineering of air pollution control, solid waste disposal and recycling, and biological technology.

Main Courses:

Bilingual Courses: Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer Ⅱ, Environmental Toxicology, Air Pollution Control Engineering, Environmental Monitoring, Solid Waste Treatment and Disposal, Environmental Engineering Microbiology, Water Pollution Control Engineering. Entrepreneurship Education Courses: Environmental Entrepreneurship Education

Degree Awarded: SBachelor’s Degree of Engineering.

Duration: New HSK Band 4

Information for Admission:

General Entry Requirement: Over 18 years old, high school graduate or above. Applicants from non-English speaking countries are required to submit a TOEFL score of 68 or IELTS 5.5, or take SCUT’s placement test.

b. High School Diploma and Transcripts. All documents should be translated into English.

c. English test results, if available.

d. For applying the major of Civil Engineering, the students also need to provide the new HSK Band 4 result.

SCUT has two semesters a year; the main semester which admits new students only, runs from September to January, and the second semester runs from late February or early March to July.
