2013-2014 English-medium Master's programs Xi'an Jiaotong University

In the academic year 2013 - 2014, Xi'an Jiaotong University will offer 4 English-medium Master's programs. The programs are developed specifically for applicants who are skilled in English but do not have Chinese language proficiency.

I. Academic Programs

Master of Management Science (MMS)

Master of Electrical Engineering (MEE)

Master of Power Engineering and Thermal Fluid Science (MPETFS)

Master of Mechanical Engineering (MME)

Ⅱ. Duration of study

The full-time programme lasts for two years. The academic year usually starts in September. There is only one intake in an academic year.

Ⅲ. Admissions Requirements

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary passport and have been awarded a recognized Bachelor's degree.

Ⅳ. Application Documents

All documentation must be complete, true, and correct in either Chinese or English. The required documents are listed below:

2. Photocopy of Physical Examination Form.

Applicants should undergo physical examinations as specified in the Physical Examination Form and keep the medical test reports and other relevant reports. The Physical Examination Form must be signed by an authorised person and the seal of the organisation carrying out the examination must be shown on the form.

3. Highest degree certificate (notarized copy).

Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be translated into Chinese or English and notarized.

4. Undergraduate Academic Transcripts (notarized copy).

Transcripts in other languages must be attached with a notarized translation in Chinese or English.

5. Statement of Purpose.

6. Letters of Recommendation.

Two letters of recommendation (in Chinese or English) must be written for the applicant by professors or associate professors or in non-academic institutions by members of staff with equivalent positions.

7. GMAT(only for Applicants who apply for IMBA and MMS).

8. Certification of English Proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, or GRE).

Applicants whose Undergraduate medium of instruction was not in English.

9. One photocopy of your valid passport.

10. Proof of no criminal record notarized copy.

Application fee: RMB 500.(Non Refundable).

The Admission Committee may request applicants to take other tests in order to determine their suitability for the programs.

Ⅴ. Application Procedure

Step 1: Online Application

Complete the online application form available from the website of the School of International Education, Xi'an Jiaotong University. After completion print and sign the completed Application Form. You should only do this after the application status has been changed to “verified”.

Step 2: Submission of documents

Submit the application documents listed above to the address indicated below by post, or in person.

Ⅶ. Application Schedule

Both the Online Application and a complete set of application documents should be completed and the package should be received by June 15th, 2013.

Ⅷ. Tuition Fees and Other Expenses

The tuition fee for programs listed in I is RMB 40000 per year and is subject to review annually. When fees are revised the new fees will apply to all existing and new students in the following academic year.

Accidental Injury and Hospitalization Insurance: RMB 600 per year.
