Ambassador of Kazakhstan visits Shanghai Univeristy

On March, 8, 2013, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurlan Yermekbayev visited Shanghai University. President Luo Hongjie, Vice President Li Xiumei, Vice President Wu Song welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Shanghai University.
 
President Luo Hongjie congratulated Kazakhstan successfully won the bid of 2017 World EXPO, retrospect the deepening cooperation and friendship between Kazakhstan Consulate and Shanghai University after the establishment of China’s first Kazakh Research Center in Shanghai University in June, 2012. President Luo Hongjie said Shanghai University gained a lot of experience from 2012 Shanghai EXPO, and would like to contribute these intellectual resources to help Astana prepare EXPO in 2017, also express his support on the proposal of Kazakhstan host “Human Migration” international conference in China. Vice President Li Youmei and Wu Song introduced the University’s development strategies.
 
Ambassador Nurlan Yermekbayev noted the great significance of world EXPO 2017 in Astana, 2017 Astana EXPO will extend Kazakhstan's international influence and promote the development of social economy. Ambassador Nurlan Yermekbayev also indicated, as a member University of “China 211 Project”, Shanghai University plays a major role in talents cultivation and promote scientific cooperation and exchange between Kazakhstan and China. Both party reached preliminary agreement on “Human Migration” International Conference.
