President Shang Conferred Honorary Professorship on Dr. Dicker

Transtlate On 19th June, 2013, Professor Shang Yongfeng, President of Tianjin Medical University conferred the honorary professorship on Dr. Adam Paul Dicker, Chairman of Radiation Oncology at Thomas Jefferson University, USA. Dr. Dicker leads the radiation research and translational biology program at the Kimmel Cancer Center. His group was the first to characterize gene expression profiles of zebrafish using a species-specific microarray to assess genetic modulation following exposure to radiation in the presence or absence of radiomodifying agents. His group has also developed new approaches to radiation therapy for the treatment of cancer and has successfully applied their findings from the laboratory to the clinical setting into ETOG clinical trials.
In view of Dr. Dicker’s academic achievements and his great contribution in radiation oncology as well as good academic relationship between medical scientists between our two countries, President Shang issued the certificate of honorary professor to Professor Dicker.
Professor Dicker and Dr. Wang Ping also signed an agreement of academic exchange and collaboration between Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital to further promote the faculty exchange and research cooperation.
The conferring ceremony was attended by vice president Yao Zhi, Dr. Wang Ping, president of Cancer Hospital, Dr. Gao Ming, Dr. Hao Jihui, and Madam Wang Ying, vice presidents of cancer hospital. Dr. Dicker visited Basic Research Center and Basic Medical School of university after the ceremony.
