Program Overview:SMU‘s International Summer school program will take place from June to July and provide a study program as well as a rich cultural experience to international students from all around the world. International students will have opportunities to visit local cultural relics and historical sites and to experience Chinese culture besides their learning of the Chinese language,with the benefit of enhancing their understanding of Chinese culture and community.

The Summer School program is composed of Professional courses and Chinese language courses. Professional courses involve three parts: Chinese Culture and Tradition, Chinese Economy, and Chinese Social and Legal Systems. There are 10 Professional courses and Chinese language courses and cultural excursions are included.

Program Length: 1-2 months study program (including a rich cultural experience)

Qualifications: we welcome college students and high school seniors from around the world to apply to our International Summer School. The course will be provided in English, therefore a good working knowledge of the English language is essential.

Application Period: November 1, 2013–April 30, 2014

Application Documents
(1) Application form for studying at Shanghai Maritime University;
(2) TOFEL or IELTS or GRE certificate;
(3) Valid passport copy;
(4) 4 passport-sized photos;
(5) English certificate and documents which can prove your English level;
