Wuhan Primary School Customizes Desks to Combat Nearsightedness in Children
A primary school in Wuhan has come up with an “ingenious” method for combating Myopia, commonly referred to as nearsightedness. In order to stop children reading books with their faces against the page, a bar has been fitted to every desk, which prevents students getting too close to their books.
From the pictures, other uses for the bright orange bars include chin rest (we all need one of those), strangling devices (probably not so good in the hands of children), and a useful head rest if you have to appear like you are awake (now that's what we are talking about – if only they were fitted with pillows).
