Professor Shu Kobayashi from University of Tokyo Visits SHU College of Sciences

In the morning of March 5, 2014, world renowned chemist, Dean of Chemistry Department of University of Tokyo, Professor Shu Kobayashi delivered a splendid academic presentation entitled “The New World of Organic Chemistry in Water” in J103 academic lecture hall, Baoshan Campus.


 
During the presentation, professor Kobayashi mainly introduced the water phase organic chemical reactions based on years of scientific research. Professor Kobayashi pointed out that in the future a lot more organic chemical reaction could take place in aqueous solution, organic chemistry will achieve great contribution in terms of protecting the environment. The Presentation detail addressed green property and practicability in current organic synthetic chemistry, everyone attended the presentation have benefited a lot from professor Kobayashi's scientific research ideas and methods, and impressed by his solid academic background and the profound knowledge. After the presentation, Professor Kobayashi had heated interactive discussion with the staff and students and patiently answered all the questions.
