Fudan Humanities Getting Popular with Foreign Candidates

Fudan held its annual undergraduate entrance exam for international students on May 10, with a majority of applicants interested in the humanities, for example, economics, journalism, and Chinese at the school.

This year, 355 candidates, from 27 countries, took part in the two-day exam, in which mainly covers Chinese, math and English. Thos wanting to study the sciences or engineering have to also do a biology, physics and chemistry exam.

Fudan has been holding these tests for foreign students for 10 years now and plans to stick to accept 247 out of the 406 applicants this year because in the words of Yang Zengguo, head of the foreign student office, it “values the quality of foreign students as part of its overall strategy”.

The applicants can check their exam results on the school’s website, on May25. This will be followed by an interview to test their communication skills.
