Yantai University
  • Yantai University, located in Yantai City, Shandong province, was founded in July, 1984.
  • Yantai University was part of the Regional 211 University project, "Shandong Province Features Prestigious Engineering”, which focused on the construction of provincial universities.
  • With more than 30,000 students, Yantai University offers degrees in 10 disciplines: culture, science, engineering, law, agriculture, medicine, economics, management, education, and the arts, making it a comprehensive undergraduate University.
  • In its initial development, Yantai University was aided by the former Ministry of Education, Peking University, and Tsinghua University.
  • Located on the shore of the Yellow Sea, less than hundred meters from the coastline, Yantai University is truly a seaside University.
  • As one of the first Universities allowed to accept foreign students in China, Yantai University has had students come from over 30 different countries and regions to study.
  • In 1998, Yantai University was approved to confer a Master's degree.
  • In 2004, the former Ministry of Education gave Yantai Unveristiy an outstanding undergraduate teaching level evaluation.
  • In October 2011, Yantai University was successfully selected by the Ministry of Education for a distinguished engineer education program.
  • In 2012, it was selected as one of the most superior Universities for training students in law.
  • Also in 2012, Yantai University was approved to confer a Doctorate degree.
  • Yantai University has established friendly co-operative relationships with 80 universities and academic institutions in 21 countries and regions. With Norway, South Korea, and the United States, Yantai University has established a cooperative education project. With the cooperation of various Universities in France, Yantai University established a Confucius Institute.
  • Yantai University is also a Chinese proficiency test (HSK) testing center.
  • Yantai University works with the Shandong provincial government to give scholarships to international students.

  • Minimum requirement: Graduated from high school or are currently a college student.
  • Pass HSK Band-4 or new HSK Level-4 with 180 points

  • If you have work history, proof of work experience related to present employment with unit stamps from the previous unit you served should be provided.
  • If there are children under 18 years old or your spouse accompaning you, the birth certificate or marriage certificate notarized by the Chinese embassies and consulates should also be submitted.

  • First, the University will examine your application materials.
  • If accepted, the University will send to you a “Letter of Acceptance” and “Foreign Students Studying in China Visa Application Form” (JW202).
  • The student must then take the “Letter of Acceptance” and “Foreign Students Studying in China Visa Application Form” (JW202) to the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate to apply for a student entry visa.
  • Students should register on time, according to the time noted on their “Letter of Acceptance”.

Chinese Language Teaching (Undergraduate Matriculation)
  • Yantai was one of the first Universities to obtain approval to teach foreign students.

International Dormitory Facilities
      Yantai University has a dedicated International student dormitory on campus. Each dormitory room includes a bed, private bathroom, water heater, drinking water, heating, TV, table, chairs, bookcase and other daily necessities and facilities, including a full set of bedding. If you want new bedding, it must be purchased separately.
