The Celebration of "China-Australia University President Forum" Hosted in Shanghai University

To celebrate the anniversary of diplomatic relations between Australia and China, the Education Ministry of Australia, Foreign Affairs Ministry of China and the education ministry of China co-hosted the "China-Australia University President Forum” in Canberra on November 26. Nearly 200 university presidents, experts attended the forum. Shanghai university President Luo HongJie delivered his speech "Capacity Building through Internationalization Strategy".
 
The speech by President's Luo HongJie introduced Shanghai university’ internationalization strategy, focused on the cooperation between Sydney University of Science and Technology (UTS) and Shanghai University for the past 18 years, the experience of successfully co-founded Sydney Institute of Language and Commerce, the cooperation between two universities in research field in the recent years, and how international cooperation and exchange can boost the quality of education. After the speech, President Luo Hongjie and President Milbourne of Sydney University of science and technology answered questions from attendees and media, had further discussions about how to take the cooperation between two universities to next level
.
During the visit to Australia, President Luo HongJie attended at the 28th Sydney business school board meeting and UTS "wisdom city" cooperative research project meetings, discussed with senior management from UTS, both strongly affirmed the outstanding cooperation achievements between two universities, agreed to promote the cooperation further, and focused on planning the goals of next five to ten years.
 
In addition, President Luo HongJie also visited the University of Queensland, reached a preliminary cooperation intention on the scientific research cooperation and teachers and students exchange program.
