A few days ago, Chinese Ministry of Education has released the roster of 2012 "New Century Talents Support Plan", Professor Zhang HaiDong from School of Sociology and Political Sciences ,Shanghai University was selected by the committee successfully, and his funded research direction is “social development, social quality, social inequality and social stratification
 

 
The ministry of education set up the "New Century Talents Support Plan" to further strengthen team construction of the young academic leaders from higher education institute, speed up the cultivation of young talents, vigorously strengthen higher school primitiveness innovation ability, develop academic level and the quality of talent training. The plan selects 1000 outstanding young academic leaders from science and social science fields once a year.
