Students Discuss TPP and China’s Rebalancing Strategy

On 29 December, 2015, The 2nd World Economic Forum for Young Elite Was Successfully Held in School of Economics and Management at WHU focusing on TPP and China’s rebalancing strategy. The Forum was hosted by the department of World Economics and the work team of the National Essential Course “Introduction to World Economy”.

There are 58 participants from 11 foreign countries registered for the forum, while most of them are foreign students from the undergraduate program (International Economics and Trade) and the professional master program (International Business); Students of Graduate level to the Department of World Economics has also joined the event.

Professor DU Li, deputy director to the department of world economics gave the opening speech. Students from China, USA, Kazakhstan, Korea and Turkey made keynote speech on the topics of “Impact of TPP”,” China's participation in regional economic integration” and “Internationalization of RMB”. Assistant Professor YU Haishan, assistant Professor TANG Xin and associate Professor GUO Lin gave wonderful comments on each session respectively. At the close of the event associate Professor YU Zhen, department party secretary, summed up, he extended his appreciation to the participants attending this event and the volunteers endeavoring in this forum.

World Economic Forum for Young Elite is a significant part for the construction of National Essential Course “Introduction to World Economy”, it is a platform for students from the department of world economics to exchange academic ideas. The forum aims to consolidate teaching achievement and exploit the students’ international insights and promote academic exchange ability.
