Irish Culture and Art Exhibition Opens in Shanghai University Art Gallery

 

 
On March, 24, 2013, the opening ceremony of Irish Culture and Art Exhibition “Legacy” was held in Shanghai University Art Gallery. Irish Shanghai Consul General Mr. and Mrs. Austin Gormley, Vice President of Shanghai University Wu Song, Curator Irish artist Fion Gunn, Dean of College of Fine Arts Prof. Wang Dawei, Director of Glass Art Studio Prof. Zhuang Xiaowei, Associate Director of International Office Cui Wei attended the opening ceremony.
 
At the opening ceremony, the Irish consulate Mr. Austin Gormley expressed his congratulations to the success of the exhibition, and pointed out that the main purpose of Irish Culture and Art Exhibition is to strengthen and deepen the friendship between two countries, and expressed his wish that more Chinese audience can have a better understanding of Irish culture and art through this exhibition.
 
Irish Culture and Art Exhibition is an important part of the Irish Cultural Festival held in Beijing every March, is composed of a series of visual art exhibitions. The festival is aim to raise the awareness of Irish culture among Chinese audiences, as well as create farther creative cultural cooperation between two countries. Aside from all these, Irish Cultural Festive also present a cultural feast including Irish dancing, music, art literature to the Chinese audiences.
