During April 24 to 26, 2013, our university took part in the Liaoning tryout of the program “China Exploration-- Sunshine Sports and Culture Journey for International Students”

        This qualification tryout was organized by Liaoning Province Ministry of Education and held by Shenyang Normal University. And there were 21 teams which consisted of 168 international students from 53 countries and 42 Chinese students. 8 international students from Nigeria, Namibia, Congo-Brazzaville and Kenya and 2 Chinese students formed a team on behalf of our university participated in the competition. This team was formed at the beginning of April and was trained at least 6 hours a day by Sports Department and School of International Education for the 4 competition events which are Kung Fu performance, orienteering, basketball 3 on 3 and talent performance.

       After 2 weeks’ training, 8 international students of our university understood the essence of kung fu, expressed the verve of Chinese martial art with powerful and unified motion and won the praise of the judges as a top 10 team in this event. In the afternoon of April 24, the orienteering started. Our team sent 5 international students and 1 Chinese girl, Zhao Lili to attend this event. After the fierce running competition, our team won the 3rd place in this event. On April 25, there came the basketball 3 on 3 games. Our basketball team was led by Qiu Rui along with 3 international students (1 bench player). And the team made it to the final eight. On April 26, the final event talent performance started. Our Nigeria student Paul played electronic keyboard sang a Chinese song which moved all the judges and audience. Then 3 boys and 3 girls sang together and won the applause of the audience. After the whole competition, our university won the Outstanding Organization Award of the Liaoning tryout of the program "China Exploration-- Sunshine Sports and Culture Journey for International Students”

         "China Exploration-- Sunshine Sports and Culture Journey for International Students" is a platform for all the international students, the aim of which is to enhance the communication, friendship and unity among international students in China through sports and arts. It is a great bridge for China that advocates the communication between China and foreign countries, deepens mutual understanding, promotes friendship and constructs a harmonious society.
