Red Flag One Missile System Donated to SAU
Red Flag One missile system was donated to SAU and erected in front of International Education College. It is a semi-stationary, medium to high-altitude, medium to short-range surface-to-air missile system which was successfully designed in Shenyang on December 10, 1964. Its power plant consists of two stages, namely solid rocket engine and liquid rocket engine.
The missile uses radio command guidance. Red Flag One missile system has a length of 10.90 m, body diameter of 0.65 m, a wing span of 2.56 m and a launch weight of 2160 kg. It has a maximum speed of Mach 3, with an effective range of 13-29 km and an effective altitude of 3-22 km.
