Mr. Richard Pride Visited SMU
On the morning of May 8, Mr. Richard Pride, President and COO (Chief Operating Officer) of ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) Greater China Division paid a visit to Lingang campus of SMU. Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU, Prof. Kong Fancun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SMU as well as leaders of relative departments and colleges gave the guests a warm reception.
Prof. Huang Youfang, President of SMU delivered the welcoming speech. He introduced the advantages and distinguishing features of SMU in running school and said that a number of fruitful results such as in the aspects of scholarship and doing practice teaching had been achieved since SMU and ABS carried out friendly cooperation. He also expressed his hope that the two sides could strengthen the collaboration with each other in the fields of students exchange and scientific project collaboration.
Mr. Richard Pride said he was very pleased to come to SMU for a visit, and expected to push forward the partnership in scholarship and scientific project collaboration, etc.
During the visit, the two sides discussed matters in a deep-going way relating to the further cooperation.
Besides, Mr. Richard Pride, President and COO of ABS Greater China toured the Electric Propulsion & Automatic Control System Laboratory and COSTAMARE Engine Room Integrated Laboratory.
