2013 SMU-NORDEN Workshop was Held Successfully

On May 14, the 2013 SMU-NORDEN Workshop was held successfully at SMU. Mr. Jakob Bergholdt, Group Vice President and CEO at Norden Shipping (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Mr. Steffen J. Moller, General Manager and Chief Representative at Norden Shipping (Shanghai), and Prof. Jin Yongxing, Vice President of SMU attended the workshop as well as the award-giving ceremony.

During the lecture, Mr. Jakob Bergholdt introduced the operation system of Norden, Corporate social responsibility and the present situation of shipping industry. Then, the 5 representatives of Norden, together with 40 sophomore students from SMU discussed in groups. At last, 10 students were selected as the winners of the current workshop. Prof. Jin Yongxing and Mr. Jakob Bergholdt together granted the scholarship certificates and bonus to the winners.

SMU-NORDEN Workshop has been lasting for eight years, which plays a positive role in helping SMU students get a deeper understanding of the existing circumstances of shipping industry.
