EU LANGUAGE & CULTURE FESTIVAL 2013 AMBASSADOR FORUM HELD IN BFSU
On the afternoon of May 9, Dean Sun Youzhong of English and International Studies chaired Ambassador Forum at Beijing Foreign Studies University. This is also part of the activities scheduled during EU Language & Culture Festival 2013.
In his opening speech, President Han Zhen emphasized the necessity of cultural exchanges between China and EU countries and hoped the festival would serve as a new bridge in future.

Ambassador Declan Kelleher of Ireland spoke on “Trends in EU-China Relations” and talked about China-EU partnership. Ambassador Patrick Nijs of Belgium spoke on “Europe, an Everlasting Dream, a History Inevitably Moving forward” and talked about EU’s current situations and future prospect under the impact of debt crisis. Two speakers then answered the questions asked by students in three languages of English, French, and Irish.

President Han met Ambassador Declan Kelleher before the forum and exchanged opinions on BFSU’s Irish program and Irish Study Center. After the forum, accompanied by President Han and Vice Chairman Jiang Xufan of the university council, two ambassadors visited the EU exhibition at Culture Square.
