Minghong Wu, Professor of Environmental Engineering

Professor Minghong Wu, the Chang Jiang scholar, the foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholar. She is the assistant president of Shanghai University, the Executive Dean and Party committee secretary of the school of environmental and chemical engineering, director of Institute of Applied Radiation, the leader of “Environmental Engineering” --the key academic discipline-- supported by National “211 project” of shanghai university. She takes a part-time job in Council Member of Chinese Nuclear Society, Chinese Nuclear Physics Society and Particle Accelerator of Chinese Nuclear Society. She is also the editor of <Nuclear Science and Technology> and <Journal of University Chemical Engineering>. She researches mainly in the field of radiation technology applied in the environmental protect and preparation of new materials. In recent years, Professor Wu has undertaken many National and Shanghai projects, such as National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Key Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Key Technology R&D Program in the 11th Five year Plan of china, General Program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Key Program of Shanghai Committee of Science and Technology, China, Shanghai Science and Technology Committee Rising-Star Program, “Dawn” Program of Shanghai Education Commission, China and many research projects cooperated with International Atomic Energy Agency.

She has published more than 230 scientific papers and more than 202 of them have been indexed by SCI and EI, including Chemical Reviews, (IF 40.033), Chemical Society Review (IF 28.760) and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (IF 13.455). She also received 18 national invention patents. As the main editor she published the book “Application of radiation technology in environmental protection”. She was invited to write reviews papers by high level journals such as “Chemical Society Reviews” and “Progress in Materials Science” etc. Recently, she was awarded as national model teacher, National Talents Engineering of Ministry of Personnel of China, New Century Excellent Talents in University, Able Woman of China, Shanghai Leading Talent,Outstanding Academic Leaders in Shanghai, Shanghai Heroine Innovation Award and Woman pace-setter etc. In the research area, she has won the second prize of Shanghai Science and Technology 3 item, the second prize of National Natural Science, and the first prize of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province etc. She has got awards for 9th Science and Technology Award for Guanghua Engineering granted by China Engineering Academy in 2012.
