SZU Student Team Won 2nd Gold Medal in IGEM Competition
2015 International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition drew its curtain in Hynes Convention Center in Boston on the morning of September 28th (U.S.Eastern Time). After competing with 280 teams on the international stage, Shenzhen University (SZU) team eventually gained unanimous recognition among the judges and the competing teams and was declared the gold medal winner for a second time.
Founded in 2003 by MIT and iGem foundation, IGEM, an international interdisciplinary academic competition oriented to Bioscience-major undergraduates throughout the world, boasts enormous global influence. SZU team’s first-time performance in IGEM Competition achieved prominent accomplishments, this year SZU set up an interdisciplinary team with more competitiveness, consisting of 15 students from School of Life Sciences, Institute of Advanced Studies to School of Management and School of Computer and Software. Their competing project is under joint guidance of School of Biosciences and SZU No.1 affiliated Hospital.
